Courting Success is led by a passionate team of professionals dedicated to bringing quality sports opportunities to underserved communities. Our board of directors and officers bring diverse expertise in organizational leadership, team building and sports programming to help guide our mission.

Each team member plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our initiatives. Below, meet the individuals who are driving our mission forward.

Aaron Kallhoff

President & Founding Board Member, Courting Success

Aaron Kallhoff is a respected collegiate coach and youth advocate who serves as President and a Founding Board Member of Courting Success. Known for his ability to lead both on and off the court, Aaron brings over 20 years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level to the organization’s mission of empowering underserved youth through sports, mentorship, and community development.

Currently the head coach of the Sacramento State women’s basketball team, Aaron has built a national reputation for recruiting and mentoring student-athletes, many of whom have gone on to successful professional careers. He has held coaching positions at BYU, LSU, Penn State, and TCU, and is widely recognized for his ability to build winning cultures rooted in accountability, integrity, and personal growth.

As President of Courting Success, Aaron draws from both his leadership background and his personal experience as a father and advocate for inclusive youth programs. He plays a central role in shaping the organization’s strategy, building community partnerships, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

Thaxter “Helicopter” Arterberry

Secretary & Founding Board Member, Courting Success

Thaxter Arterberry, affectionately known as “The Helicopter” for his remarkable leaping ability and dynamic playstyle, is a celebrated figure in California’s basketball history. His athletic prowess earned him a spot at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he continued to make significant contributions on the court.

Transitioning from sports to service, Thaxter has dedicated his post-athletic career to community development and youth mentorship. As a founding board member and Secretary of Courting Success, he leverages his leadership skills and personal experiences to guide young individuals toward achieving their full potential.
Beyond his role with Courting Success, Thaxter is also the host of the “Money Talks Radio” podcast, where he discusses financial literacy and personal development strategies. His commitment to uplifting others is evident in all his endeavors, making him a respected leader and mentor in the Sacramento community.

George Golden II

Treasurer & Founding Board Member, Courting Success

George Golden II is a U.S. Marine and former collegiate basketball standout who brings discipline, leadership, and a passion for youth development to his role as Treasurer and Founding Board Member of Courting Success. A Sacramento native and graduate of Christian Brothers High School, George earned recognition for his athletic prowess on the basketball court. He continued his basketball career at Bethany University.

He then played basketball professionally in Naiper, New Zealand for the Hawkes bay Hawks.

Following his collegiate athletic career, George committed himself to service in the United States Marine Corps. Currently stationed in San Diego, he focuses on officer selection and talent development within the 12th Marine Corps District.
As Treasurer of Courting Success, George applies his strategic and organizational skills to oversee the organization’s financial health, ensuring transparency and sustainability. His unique blend of athletic experience and military discipline positions him as a vital contributor to the organization’s mission of empowering youth through sports and mentorship.

Don F. Harris

Founder & Legal Counsel

Don F. Harris is the nationally recognized founder and legal counsel of Courting Success, and a serial social entrepreneur committed to expanding opportunities for youth and underserved communities. He currently serves as Executive Pastor at Antioch Progressive Church in Sacramento, where the organization’s first portable sports court will be installed. Don is best known as the founder of the Nehemiah Corporation, which created the nation’s first privately funded down payment assistance initiative and helped hundreds of thousands achieve homeownership. With a distinguished career in nonprofit leadership, community development, law, and faith-based service, Don brings vision, legal expertise, and a deep commitment to equity and innovation to Courting Success.

Aaron Kallhoff

Aaron Kallhoff graduated from Bemidji State in 2003 with a degree in mass communications and a double concentration in public relations/advertising and electronic media. He is a veteran collegiate coach with more than two decades of experience as an assistant and head coach, enters his second season as the head coach of the Sacramento State women’s basketball program in 2024-25. Named to the post in April of 2023, he is the seventh head coach in the program’s Division I history.

Thaxter Arterberry

Thaxter Arterberry specializes in sustainable urban real estate investment strategies and creating innovative ways for real property acquisition, liquidation and management.

George Golden II

George Golden II Currently spearheading officer selection for the US Marine Corps’ 12th district, my focus is on talent development and strategic organizational leadership. Our efforts are instrumental in surmounting the unique recruitment challenges across the West Coast, with an emphasis on training and empowering our selection Officers to drive mission success.

Until our independent 501(c)(3) status is finalized, all donations are being received on our behalf by Empowering Possibilities Unlimited, Inc., a California nonprofit public benefit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Your contributions are fully tax-deductible and will be directed exclusively to support Courting Success programs
